For better or worse, most of the Church’s intramural arguments take place because of our lack of adversity. If we were in the midst of adversity we would be far more patient with our brothers and sisters of the faith, who are not like us.

Adversity has a way of narrowing focus. It chips away at other things that compete till they are seen for what they are.
When a person is drowning they will grasp at anything in hope.
This past Monday I taught college freshmen about the “dos and don’ts” of banking and it made me miss working with young people in a way that ached. I don’t look at them and see young and dumb. I see a group of young men and women on the cusp of adulthood that need the grace of Jesus extended to them.
I think we Christians should question the wisdom of the Greek system at colleges far more than we do.
Working on a post defending youth ministry. My hope? It will encourage those who have a substantive love for young people AND the church.
